Madhavaram, Mahabubnagar District

Photos taken during my visit to Sri Venugopala Swamy temple on 9.11.2008 (Sunday) with Bhim Bahadur, Ramprasad and our families. The temple is very old and the architecture is still preserved. There are temples dedicted to : Sri Venugopala Swamy, Sudarsana, Narsimha Swamy & Hanuman. Lord Rama, Sita, Laxmana, Bharata, Shatrugna and Hanuman are in Swayumbhu form. Sudarsana homam is performed here and were lucky enough to witness the 1003rd Sudarsana homam performed by Shri Kannan the chief priest of the temple. Location: After crossing the city limits towards Srisailam, you will come across Kadthal village which is approx. 30-35 Kms from Chandrayangutta. Take a right turn at Kadthal and travel for 11 Kms. The road is not that good. BT road is being laid. Further, from Madhavaram you can also visit the Venkateswara swamy temple, around 8 kms from Madhavaram. I will shortly update the tel nos. of both the temples. A visit to both these temples is a must for those who love nature in its original form and also ancient architecture.
